Asphalt Shingle Roof Repair and Replacement

Asphalt shingles are the most popular type of residential roofing material in Tacoma and provide one of the most cost effective solutions for your residential roofing needs.  There are two types of asphalt shingles; organic and glass fiber.  Both have ceramic granules that protect against premature aging from UV rays and are reinforced with either organic felt materials or the recently popular fiberglass substrate and do a good job of handling Pierce County’s weather.

Tacoma Roof Specialties is a Washington licensed roofing contractor that has extensive experience repairing asphalt shingle roofs.  We only use quality materials along with an installation process that will ensure the best performance of your roof, and back all of it up with a quality warranty.

Every roof we install comes with a complete manufacturer’s warranty and is inspected by trained supervisors to insure our strict quality standards are met.  Our roofing methods not only meet, but exceed, all minimum, building code requirements.

All of our shingle installers are “certified” by our fine line of manufacturers which include: GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed.  This certification process provides the training needed for proper roof installation, and increases each installer’s knowledge of critical install points.

Here at Tacoma Roof Specialties we pride ourselves in being the best in the business in every aspect of our company, for this reason we use higher quality materials and workmanship and are ready to provide the best money can buy.

Strip Shingles

The most common shingle on the market is a strip shingle.  The most common form of the strip shingle style is the 3-tab shingle, and is simply installed in a single-layer.  Strip shingles are manufactured in many different colors.

Dimensional Shingles

Dimensional shingles are popularly known as architectural shingles.  They are manufactured in multiple layers.  These roofing shingles are heavier and more durable than strip shingles, and therefore have an increased life cycle.  Dimensional shingles come in several style, shape and color options.
